Modern Heirloom®️ began long before it had a name. It started at a bench, with two artists working side by side . Two sets of hands working together to shape metal, guided by a deep respect for craft and the belief that objects can carry meaning far beyond their material. After graduating from Savannah College of Art and Design over 30 years ago, Ben and I set off on our creative adventure together. We built our life and work side by side, eventually opening our gallery and studio in coastal North Carolina. Over time, we found ourselves drawn not to trends, but to permanence. To the grace of turn-of-the-century design. To hand engraving, where every line is intentional. To creating pieces that feel as though they’ve always existed, even when newly made. Modern Heirloom® grew from that place. It is not just a style, but it carries in each piece our philosophy: Jewelry is meant to be lived in. It should capture the moments and memories that matter . Jewelry should carry your story through.
